Work progressing at M&E design and build scheme for international Steeper Group
Work for an internationally leading prosthetics, orthotics and assistive technology company’s new headquarters is due to complete in July.
G&H Building Services is carrying out a full mechanical and electrical design and build scheme for Steeper Group.
The Group, which is nearly a century old, is bringing its office and factory together under one roof in Leeds after falling victim to the floods at Christmas in 2015.
The 21-week programme sees G&H Building Services working alongside the main contractor, Sewell Construction, to fit out the new premises.
Work will see G&H Building Services install domestic hot and cold water services, compressed air, lighting, power, air conditioning, gas supplies, ducting, fire alarms, security systems and door access.
The services will be installed in both the office and factory as well as the new manufacturing and customer service areas.
Project Engineer at G&H Building Services, Stuart Howe, said: “All the mechanical and electrical services have been tailor made from a design perspective to meet Steeper Group’s specific needs as a business.
“The new headquarters allowed us and Sewell Construction to create a state-of-the-art facility that will benefit all staff and customers for many years to come.”
With around 90 state-registered clinicians and 140 technicians, Steeper Group provides clinical services to some 200,000 patients every year across prosthetics and orthotics.
It is also one of the UK’s largest suppliers of orthotic and orthopaedic products to the NHS.
