Health and Safety
The safety of our people and the environment in which they operate in is of paramount importance.
We commit large resources – financially and culturally – to make health and safety the top priority before any work begins.
Our health and safety ethos raises our professional standards, increases site safety and protects every team member.
Training courses are provided by a safety maintenance company; specialist courses are carried out at Leeds College of Building; and, the IPAF trains operatives in the use of cherry pickers/MEWPS.
An independent consultant audits our H&S policy working closely with our H&S Manager to make recommendations, notifications and updates to documentation, as well as providing insights into current legislation that may impact on our work.
All Senior Engineers and Directors have undertaken the SMSTS course to ensure they are qualified to manage the projects they are controlling with all G&H staff carrying valid CSCS cards.
We welcome health and safety audits, which ensure we continue to achieve CHAS and Safecontractor accreditation and exceed the requirements of the MCG Health and Safety Charter.
Together, these factors have resulted in an exemplary safety record since our incorporation.
