Residents invited to Macmillan coffee morning

The G&H Group is opening its doors to residents by holding a coffee morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Staff can bake or buy a cake which will then be sold to residents along with coffee at the event hosted at our Firlands Mill headquarters in South Parade, Pudsey.

Residents are invited to enjoy the coffee morning that runs from 10am to 12pm on Tuesday 22 September.

Macmillan has also sent a special kit with various games including a sweepstake to help raise more money. All proceeds go to Macmillan which last year raised £25 million.

Tracey Herd at G&H Group, said: “We take fundraising for charities very seriously and the coffee morning is going to be a great event for residents and staff to enjoy – we are hoping lots of residents will come along.

“The statistics on cancer are clear: one in three people will face it so generating as much money as possible to help fund research, treatment, support and care is crucial.

“Last month we took part in a charity boat race for Macmillan Cancer Support and the more we can raise the better so we encourage everyone to enjoy a coffee, a cake and a chat with us on the 22nd.”

Macmillan’s first coffee morning took place in 1990 and since then the annual event has raised over £138 million.
