G&H Sustainability has completed the installation of a bespoke solar power system in Keighley.
The work for Pickard Hardware saw a 30kWh PV panel system installed that will save £2,400 a year in fuel bills and 2,3640kg in carbon emissions.
The trapezoidal system cannot be seen from street level but will maximise use of north and south facing sunlight.
Pickard Hardware, which supplies hardware to the timber window and door industry, chose the renewable energy source to power its office and warehouse.
The system will produce up to a third of the energy needed and ring-fence energy bills for the next 25 years.
National Sales Manager at G&H Sustainability, Martin Greenwood, said: “The trapezoidal system is practically invisible yet provides a great source of energy for Pickard Hardware.
“It will save £147,000 over the course of the government’s Feed-in Tariff that makes payments linked to the energy produced every three months for the next 20 years.
“They will recoup the investment in a short period of time while also reducing their carbon footprint and helping to protect the environment.”
Dale Spencer, Managing Director at Pickard Hardware, said: “Installing a sophisticated solar panel system was extremely easy and makes perfect sense from business and CSR perspectives.
“It is an investment in our premises and our company which will see a return within a relatively short period of time.
“In addition to this, it means we are conducting our business more responsibly by using a natural, renewable source of energy.”
