G&H Group teams up with Interserve in charity boat race event
G&H staff are taking to the water as part of a charity fundraising event with Interserve, the international support services and construction group.
Taking place on the River Ouse, eight members of staff will be rowing in the “Intersurfers” team in the 17th York Rotary Annual Dragon Boat Race on Sunday, July 14.
Money is being raised for the rotary’s charity, St Leonard’s Hospice and Interserve’s charities of the year – Yorkshire Cancer Research and the Interserve Employee Foundation.
Some 36 teams will be competing in 250m race heats for the chance to be in the grand final to win the Challenge Trophy and a cheque of £100 for their chosen charity.
Awards for the fastest charity team, fastest armed services team, fastest civilian team, best dressed team and the slowest time will also be given out.
G&H’s Contracts Department Manager, Paul Churchill, said: “We are really looking forward to the event and being able to support Interserve as well as three charities.
“Crucially, we want to be able to help raise vital funds for such worthwhile causes and hope people will give generously to not only meet the £1,500 target but comfortably beat it.”
The York Rotary Dragon Boat Race has raised over £1.1 million for charities so far.
