G&H Group receives top marks from Considerate Constructors Scheme review

G&H Group has received two top-rated ‘excellent’ grades following reviews by the Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) organisation.

The industry body focuses on three key areas when schemes take place: construction work respecting the community, caring for the environment and valuing the workforce.

G&H Group received 15 out of 15 marks for each category in the review of its headquarters securing a maximum 45 total and an ‘excellent’ rating.

The report praised the G&H Apprentice Training Academy and the important role it plays in the community giving young people the opportunity to receive training and forge careers in the sector.

It also cited the energy-saving solutions G&H Group provides for clients, the commitment to health and safety and its ‘You’re Not Alone’ mental health and wellbeing scheme.

The complete MEP supplier also recorded a score of 43 out of 45 for its work at Newmarket House – Leeds City Council’s new eco headquarters for its Refuse and Street Cleansing Services – which also placed it in the top ‘excellent’ category.

The CCS report highlighted G&H Group’s approach assisting the main contractor on-site, its local engagement work and boosting the scheme’s green credentials by installing its own water-saving product called Encore, which is the world’s most environmentally-friendly cistern that uses waste water from air conditioning to flush the toilet.

Managing Director at G&H Group, Graham Kelly, said: “We commit a significant amount of resources to create a culture that ensure that we are always working safely and considerately at our headquarters and on-site.

“The results of the reports are a fantastic endorsement and validation for this approach and also testimony for our staff who work really hard to make sure we maintain the highest standards.

“MEP has a huge role to play reducing construction’s environmental impact to help reach net zero targets so sustainability measures such as Encore and other technologies are always central to our designs.”

About CCS

CCS is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that works with the construction industry and the public to raise standards and build trust.

Over the past three decades it has promoted and supported improvement regarding the impact of construction activity.

As part of G&H Group’s registration, it is required to display public-facing banners and posters to demonstrate commitment to the scheme’s Code of Considerate Practice.

The visuals feature contact information so anyone can get in touch with CCS’s public support team if they have concerns or feedback about on-site construction methods.
