Leeds-Based G&H Group Marks 25th Year in Business With an Office Expansion and Board Restructure

Leeds-based mechanical, electrical and public health service (MEP) provider, G&H Group, is celebrating 25 years in business with the opening of a new office in Pudsey and a restructure of its senior team to support future growth. The market-leading MEP service provider is also planning to launch a new energy division.

Founded as G&H Pipe Services in 1998, the Group has grown from a two-strong pipework subcontractor to a multi-million-pound business employing more than 180 staff across five divisions – building services, projects, maintenance, engineering services and air conditioning.

The experienced team, under the leadership of managing director Graham Kelly, take on the design, management, delivery and maintenance of every aspect of MEP schemes for main contractors and end users across both public and private sector, with clients in residential, commercial, retail, education, industrial, leisure and health.

G&H Group has marked its 25th birthday celebrations with the announcement that the Group’s maintenance division will move to new offices in Pudsey, with 20 members of staff relocating in December, as a result of strong growth across all areas of the business.

The firm has also announced, following a management restructure to support its future growth plans, that Graham will become chairman of G&H Group. Pre-construction director David Davis and commercial director Mark Craven, who have been with the business since 2009 and 2012 respectively, will increase their shareholding.

To meet the increasing demand from clients as they decarbonise their business and move closer to Net Zero, G&H Group is planning to launch a new energy division which will create jobs focusing on emerging technologies and processes. The energy division will work simultaneously with the engineering services department, which continues to grow due to its increasing involvement in large scale industrial projects where reduction in energy usage is a key focus.

G&H Group’s chairman Graham Kelly said: “G&H Group has always focused on delivering solutions to our clients by being innovative, hardworking and always going above and beyond.

“I’m very proud of the success and growth we have achieved. This is testament to the team’s commitment to always delivering projects to the highest standard and in turn developing an unrivalled reputation. We have stayed true to our roots and remained a family business, investing and supporting our staff, with many dedicating years of service.

“As we expand premises, adopt a new management structure, and plan our new energy division launch, the future for G&H Group looks extremely bright. With a strong pipeline of business and exciting growth strategy, this is just the start of our next 25 years and beyond!”

Due to the family business’ social value strategy, G&H Group has developed a strong track record in supporting and investing in people and its local communities. Over the years G&H Group has donated over £100k to local clubs and charities through sponsorship and fundraising efforts. This year, clients, suppliers and colleagues have so far raised £22,275 for Martin House Children’s Hospice, Leeds Bereavement Forum, The Market Place Leeds, Bowel Cancer UK and The British Heart Foundation. The company has also established a partnership with Andy’s Man Club and hosts sessions every Monday evening at its head office in Pudsey.

In 2020, Graham co-founded Community Interest Company Building Futures Together (BFT), creating an in-house training centre where young people receive hands-on learning that gives them insight into the sector whilst still at school.

Its aim is to help prevent young people from adding to the growing number becoming not in education, employment or training (NEET), and support schools to engage with those students in danger of falling into anti-social behaviour or crime by providing focus and structure. BFT will deliver 200 sessions in the 2023/24 academic year.

G&H Group celebrated its 25th anniversary with staff at a family fun day on Saturday 23 September.
