G&H Building Services has completed the latest phase of its work developing one of London’s most iconic buildings, 10 Trinity Square.
The 91-year-old building that sits opposite the Tower of London and featured in the hit James Bond film, Skyfall saw G&H Building Services deliver mechanical and electrical solutions as part of a £1.1 million contract.
The reception and ballroom area of the grade II* former Port of London Authority Building was transformed into a new marketing suite.
The ballroom was the venue of the inaugural meeting of the General Assembly of the United Nations in 1946 and required G&H Building Services to sympathetically update it while remaining in keeping with its period features.
Lavish bathrooms, kitchens and a luxurious hotel room featuring cast iron radiators were created to demonstrate the high level specification of the properties for sale.
Remote controlled comfort cooling, ventilation and air conditioning incorporating decorative grilles, bespoke radiators, dry risers, smoke ventilation systems and custom made sanitary ware were also installed.
Managing Director at G&H Group, Graham Kelly, said: “Winning this contract demonstrated our position in the industry and the high quality of work we deliver.
“We are very proud of this project. The building is iconic and has great history, which in turn created many challenges that we overcame by thinking innovatively.
“The oak panelled ballroom could not be disturbed so we had to work intricately behind the façade to preserve its rich heritage.
“Once the overall scheme is completed, it will be one of the capital’s most impressive and sought after places to live, stay and enjoy.
“Our expertise in mechanical service operations to meet the most exacting standards means we are regularly winning work of this calibre and the business is growing very strongly.”
The scheme will see exclusive apartments and penthouses, a five star hotel, a private members club and host of luxury amenities and services.
