The G&H Group has outlined its commitment to continuing the professional development of staff with a rolling programme of courses announced.
A seminar by leading boiler manufacturer, Baxi, was held at G&H’s purpose-built headquarters last week.
A total of 16 members of staff including directors, estimators, engineers and designers team took part in the Microgeneration and the low carbon route to combined heat and power course.
The session gave a definition of microgeneration and the benefits it offers in both domestic and non-domestic buildings.
Discussions were held about how the technology can be applied to meet current and future legislative requirements through the use of practical examples and field experience.
A detailed assessment of running costs, energy, CO and CO2 savings to support the case for micro-CHP was given.
The seminar also looked at the future developments in technology and how it will help deliver a low carbon future.
The G&H Group’s Pre-Construction Director, David Davis, said: “It is vital that as a company and as individuals we continue to learn and further our professional development so we are at the forefront of our industry and the latest innovations.
“The course by Baxi gave us a better understanding of how CHP should best be installed and demonstrated why biggest isn’t always the best or most appropriate option.
“We chose Baxi as it is the preferred supplier of CHP for Premier Inn and we are currently working on a number of their schemes.
“It also gave staff the opportunity to learn about future compliance and legislation.
“In turn, we will pass this expertise onto our clients to deliver even better services.”
The next courses to be held will focus on BREEAM, BIM and commissioning.
