G&H Building Services progressing BREEAM ‘excellent’ One City Park scheme
G&H Building Services has started the installation of services at One City Park which is striving for a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating.
Mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) designs created using BIM are now being realised in Bradford’s first Grade A office scheme for more than 20 years.
The main contractor, Caddick Construction, appointed G&H Building Services in a £4 million contract last year.
January sees G&H Building Services delivering the first fix of fan coil units and associated ductwork progressing upwards from ground level towards the fourth floor and roof terrace.
Also underway is drainage pipework and rainwater pipework and once sufficiently progressed on the lower floors, engineers will begin on the first fix of electrical works and heating and chilled pipework.
Central to G&H Building Services’ MEP is sustainability with One City Park featuring photovoltaic solar roof panels, air source heat pumps, low carbon heating and cooling, low flow water consumption and electric vehicle charging points.
Spanning over 56,000 sq ft, designs will enable flexible and agile working practices with areas having the option to be subdivided when needed.
Senior Contracts Manager at G&H Building Services, David Wilson, said: “Our detailed designs are now being turned into reality with services installed in a controlled, measured fashion to meet the programme.
“The building already has great presence in the heart of the city centre and once completed, the scheme will provide premium office space with class-leading, sustainable MEP features throughout.
“With Bradford awarded UK City of Culture 2025 status, One City Park will set a high benchmark for all future developments in the vicinity.”
The scheme, delivered by leading national master developer Muse in partnership with Bradford Council, is expected to be completed by summer 2023.
