G&H Building Services appointed to prestigious York development in £5 million M&E contract

G&H Building Services has been chosen by Caddick Construction to deliver c£5 million of mechanical and electrical works for a prestigious mixed-use scheme within York’s ancient city walls.

The £33.5 million build contract for the Hudson Quarter development sees four buildings being constructed over a two-acre site for Palace Capital PLC.

G&H Building Services will provide full design and installation of all mechanical and electrical works.

Three concrete framed residential blocks – named Kings, Waverley and Victoria – will provide 127 luxury one, two, three and four-bedroom residences and penthouses over 122,000 sq ft.

The fourth building sees a steel framed structure for Grade-A office space covering 34,500 sq ft with 5,000 sq ft of other commercial space.

G&H Hudson QuarterG&H Building Services’ mechanical and electrical work will include Building Information Modelling at the design stage, heating, power distribution, fire alarms, heat recovery ventilation and a wide range of domestic services.

Senior Contracts Manager at G&H Building Services, Paul Cuss, said: “Hudson Quarter is in an envious location and will be a tremendous addition to York’s living, working, retail and leisure offering.

“The mechanical and electrical services we are installing will be the most advanced and sophisticated available and in keeping with such a prestigious development.”

G&H Hudson QuarterThe scheme will also offer over 100 car parking spaces, hard and soft landscaping and is targeting a BREEAM ‘excellent’ rating.
