G&H blazes a trail for Oxfam

Four members of staff from the G&H Group took on a gruelling physical challenge to raise money for Oxfam.

Elliot Bradley, Andy Hudson, Andy Kirkbright and David Ridsdale completed the 2016 Trailwalker event in a bid to raise £1,000 and help the charity beat poverty.

The four had to cover 100Km across the South Downs Way in Hampshire in 30 hours or less.

Despite soaring temperatures, the quartet finished the course in 27 hours and 14 minutes.

Andy Hudson, who is a Director of the G&H Group, said: “The challenge was genuinely tough both physically and mentally.

“The team worked well to get through as we walked from 6am throughout the night until 9:14am the following day.

“It was a great achievement for a very worthy cause.”

The fundraisers were supported by the Leeds branch of Enterprise Flex-E-Rent, which supplied a Ford Transit ‘welfare van’ featuring essential facilities including lighting, clean running water and heating.

The South Downs Way is a long distance footpath and bridleway and is one of 15 national trails in England and Wales.
