G&H Building Services took just 26 weeks to complete a full category B mechanical and electrical (M&E) fit out at a US-based company’s new centre of excellence.
The work was the first G&H Building Services has delivered for BW – a specialist fit out and refurbishment contractor – as part of its work for a confidential end client.
The building is for a leading communications and aviation electronics solutions company that provides services for commercial and government customers worldwide.
G&H Building Services provided high specification M&E in a new 40,000 sq ft state-of-the-art laboratory and a 30,000 sq ft of office space in a brand new, purpose built facility.
Services included making sure power, voltage and frequency supplies were compatible with those in operation in the US, air conditioning, LED lighting and close control temperature systems in server rooms.
The installation of a sprinkler and fire alarm system and the fitting of steel-lined walls for security systems to meet Ministry of Defence standards were also co-ordinated.
Managing Director at the G&H Group, Graham Kelly, said: “The M&E services installed will support and enable the end client to develop technology particularly in the fields of satellite navigation, networking and other communication systems for government, aircraft manufacturers and OEMs.
“The building will be used by an approved British defence contractor that plays a vital role in ensuring the world’s safety through its continuous research and development, so it is vital the M&E provision is of the highest and most reliable quality.”
