The G&H Group’s commitment to offering apprenticeships continues, with its first two graduating and six more on its books.

Sam Johnson and Elliot Bradley have recently completed a four-year course, achieving NVQ Level 3 in heating and ventilation and building services design, respectively, from Leeds College of Building.

They have now been given full-time contracts within the group.G&H Group currently has six apprentices with three in their final fourth year.Three are attending Leeds College of Building and three are following the Building Engineering Services Training course. One is focusing on maintenance, one learning office based skills and four studying heating courses.

HR Manager at G&H Group, Stephen Fletcher, said: “Giving young people the opportunity to forge careers in the construction industry is vital if we are going to avoid the skills shortage we have seen previously.

“Our apprentices receive a really good grounding because the G&H Group consists of four companies covering mechanical and electrical through Building Services, Sustainability, Maintenance and Fabrication, providing them with a wide range of opportunities in construction.

“Enthusiasm, determination and a willingness to work hard are the attributes we look for in our apprentices. “In return we put them through college, give them real life experience on and off-site and offer full-time jobs once qualified.”
