The G&H Group’s work as part of the large-scale regeneration of Colliers Wood Tower in London, is progressing well.
G&H Building Services and G&H Fabrication are providing a range of services as part of a mechanical and electrical contract valued at approximately £4m.
The main contractor, JJ Rhatigan and Company, appointed G&H Group last autumn as it redevelops the Merton Council-owned property in Wimbledon.
The project sees G&H Building Services designing, building and installing HVAC, power alarms, heat recovery ventilation and domestic appliances to 182 apartments over 18-storeys.
A central heating system will feed individual boiler interface units in each of the one and two-bed properties.
G&H Fabrication has manufactured two large, bespoke stainless steel risers off-site in its specialist welding facility and delivered to site at the precise time they were needed.
Senior Contracts Manager at G&H Building Services, Paul Cuss, said: “The tower will breathe new life into the area, transforming a rundown, unpopular building into modern looking apartments.
“The scheme is technically very challenging with low ceiling voids and access to the 182 rooms only available via lifts and stair cases, but we have vast experience of delivering complex, large-scale projects of this kind.
“Once completed, residents in each apartment will enjoy high quality heating, lighting and electrical systems making living there much more comfortable.”
The M&E works are due to be completed at the end of the summer.
