In-house Apprentice Training Manager

Role

We are recruiting an experienced and inspirational individual to manage the G&H Group’s new in-house apprentice training school that has been purpose-built at our headquarters in Leeds.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of our apprentices and create a long-lasting legacy as the founding manager of the centre.

The successful candidate will have full control and given chance to shape and develop how we deliver the programme that is going to teach our young engineers of the future, arming them with traditional trade and M&E specific skills along with formal college qualifications.


Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the training school
  • Shape the delivery of the programme and how the school is run
  • Motivate, mentor and educate apprentices
  • Oversee all aspects of each apprentice’s development
  • Ensure apprentices are attending and excelling in their day-release college studies
  • Act as a point of contact with the college
  • Represent the G&H Group and the training school externally
  • Lead apprentices on site visits
  • Ensure the highest standards of health and safety at all times
  • Liaise with other divisions within the G&H Group

Criteria

  • Experience of leading apprenticeship programmes and or managing apprentices
  • Ability to communicate with young people and coax the best out of them
  • Practical skills to demonstrate and explain a variety of trade techniques
  • Motivated and enthusiastic to continually seek new ways of improving the training school
  • Patience to work with youngsters who may be uncommunicative or lacking motivation
  • Inspirational and passionate to help develop apprentices as engineers and people
  • Excellent time management skills
